Join Taylor Mac for a glimpse into the creative process and gain insight into exciting new multidisciplinary work coming out of the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP). Taylor’s guests, who include Gisela Cardenas, Misha Chowdhury, Baba Israel, Grace Galu, and Nia Witherspoon, span the disciplines of theatre, music, dance, opera, media arts, and more. They speak candidly about their experiences creating fresh, innovative performances in the midst of a global pandemic and racial reckoning.
Shayok Misha Chowdhury is a queer Bengali writer, director and performance-maker. He is currently in residence at HERE Arts Center, BRIC, and The Public Theater, and recently at Ars Nova, New York Theatre Workshop, Soho Rep, SPACE on Ryder Farm, The Drama League, and The Flea. Recent/upcoming: MUKHAGNI (Under the Radar); HOW THE WHITE GIRL GOT HER SPOTS AND OTHER 90s TRIVIA (Joe’s Pub); RHEOLOGY (HERE Arts); ANTIOCH MASS (The Shed); and SPEECH (Philly Fringe). A Fulbright and Kundiman fellow, Misha has been published in The Cincinnati Review, TriQuarterly, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Asian American Literary Review, and elsewhere. MFA: Columbia.
Taylor Mac (who uses “judy” – lowercase sic – as a gender pronoun) is a playwright, actor, singer-songwriter, performance artist, director and producer.
